Classes

Currently, the Tuesday night class times are being used to rehearse for the State Fair performances on July 24th. Below is the new schedule beginning July 27th.

Group Improvisational Bellydance (Tuesdays 7:00-8:00 beginning July 27th)

"Come to the Dark Side...we have cookies."

Don't let the name scare you, group improv, aka Tribal, is a fabulous modern bellydance style which allows dancers to perform together without choreographing. Tribal borrows from a variety of dance forms including Egyptian, Flamenco and Classical Indian dance. In this class, we'll cover a broad spectrum of topics including: basic movements, combinations, transitions, formations, following a lead dancer as they cue various movements, as well as providing students the opportunity to learn how to lead a group of dancers. Lastly, we'll cover the use of zills (finger cymbals), and how they fit in with the music we use.

(Tuesdays 8:00-9:00)

To Be Announced.

What to Wear

For bellydance classes, please wear a fitted top and comfortable workout pants or a full skirt. Feet may be left bare or you can wear socks, ballet slippers or non-marking athletic shoes. If you have a coin scarf or fringed shawl to tie around your hips, please bring it to class! It will let you see your hip movements better plus costuming is part of the fun!
